On Drawing for a good animation pose

Well, here we are again learning the basics of makings sketches that will give us the strongest pose for animating. Things to keep in mind are as follow:
Strong line of action What is a line of action you asK? Well the line of action is the line that goes through your character from the top of the characters' head to the end of his foot. Its shows the the direction and force of the action the character is making.
Silhouette This is when you fill in the character with black to show the visual appeal your character pose has. It has to be interpretable to others as a clearly defined action, easy to see with a forceful quality. You have to be able to tell right away what the character is doing. This also leads to:
Positive and Negative Space This is the space of the character (pos) and the shapes around and between the character (neg) They are mutually dependent on each other. So make sure that you have enough spacing in between body parts Ex.(like not having the arm be hidden or too close to the body) in order to get an effective character pose.
Twinning When there is too much sameness throughout the pose. In real life, there is not symmetry in our bodies. If you look at someones face the may have one ear bigger than the other or a nostril with a wider opening. In art, there is an italian term named contrapossto. It is the body at rest, which shows the capacity for movement by including variations. such as the bending of the knee, swiveling of the pelvis and tilting of the shoulder or head. This concept combined with the line of action should give even a standing figure a slight s curve. In reality symmetry only exists in rigid objects such as architectural buildings which have no energy but stillness.
We should not forget to include a variety of many different poses. Experiment with movements and remember to have fun. It's animation for Petes' sake.
